Certains consid\u00e8rent ces propos comme de l&#8217;humour, tandis que d&#8217;autres y voient une incitation \u00e0 la haine et \u00e0 la violence antis\u00e9mite. Suite \u00e0 ces d\u00e9clarations, Brusselmans a \u00e9t\u00e9 convoqu\u00e9 devant le tribunal correctionnel de Gand. En marge de la premi\u00e8re audience, son avocat s\u2019est adress\u00e9 aux journalistes, affirmant qu\u2019il avait \u00ab <em>d&#8217;abord cru que l&#8217;assignation \u00e9tait r\u00e9dig\u00e9e en h\u00e9breu, tant elle lui semblait absurde<\/em> \u00bb, ajoutant <em>qu\u2019il avait l\u2019impression \u00ab qu&#8217;ils \u00bb tentaient de d\u00e9placer le Mur des Lamentations \u00e0 Gand \u00bb <\/em>.
